November Challenge
It is November 1st and I have a challenge for you. November is kind of a dreary month, not much going on. It gets dark early, it is dark late, it is colder, it is wetter. Unless you live in the south or the Southern Hemisphere (where it is summer) it can be a challenge to get outdoors and exercise. It is also an easy time to eat too much, spend too much, drink too much, it is not quite holiday season, but it is starting. According to some research the average American gains 7-10 pounds between Halloween and Christmas. That is fairly astonishing and not a great way to start the New Year. This is not inevitable. You do not have to gain weight, eat junk or quit exercising. You can be a success story. That is why I am having the November Challenge.
This November I personally invite you to join me in the November Challenge. The rules are simple.
A month long cleanse from anything that is unnecessary. Here are some of the following things I will be eliminating for November.
Any “suspicious” food (suspiciously looks like it is full of fat, sugar, salt or all of the above).
Any unnecessary purchases. That is anything that I don’t absolutely need. For example, I might need toilet paper, dog food, toothpaste. You get the idea. No little purchases that add up to nothing.
Any alcohol. ’nuff said.
Any exercise avoidance techniques. If I do all my workouts in November think of how great I will feel when the holidays really start.
Any “treats” food or otherwise.
November Challenge are you in?

I’m in! Exercising and “treats” are mi weakest points. I’m from Mexico but have been living in Vancouver for almost 8 years and winters are still very hard for me. Thanks for your tips, they are great and have helped me a lot.
That is great! Thanks for the feedback and on joining me! I look forward to our November Challenge.
All the best,
Shayla
I’m in! Waking up this morning to yuck weather made me want to go back to bed. It was really hard to get up and make a nice salad for my lunch instead of sleeping in that extra 20 mins and buying something for lunch.
I’m SO in. This is very timely, thanks Shayla. I did my first lunch time run today. Dreaded it because outside was so dreary but I felt amazing afterwards!
That is great Melissa and congrats on actually getting up and making your salad!
Excellent! I am glad you are joining our challenge. I look forward to your success!
Bring on the challenge! I am definitely in! The challenge will keep me away from treats (specifically date squares), which i love this time of year! Thanks for push to keep motivated this month. Got a run and weights in today, feels good to start out right.
That is great Toby! It is a great start to November. Cheers, Shayla
I’m in. It’s going to be challenging as I already want a treat, and if I can’t have treats I want to shop. Hmmm…I’ve done it before I can do it again.
I know you can do it! And we are all in it together, Shayla
I’m in. Have been working on getting fit for 2 months now and needed the motivation to keep the momentum going.
Hi Aofie,
I am glad you are joining us on our November challenge! Let’s stay motivated all of November.
All the best,
Shayla
My November challenge will be the start of how I want to be at the end of the year. I will weigh less than 135 pounds. I will be able to cinch my belt in one notch smaller and not have any spillage over when I sit down. I have two rings and I want them to be loose on my fingers. Of course, I will continue to exercise at least four times a week for an hour and work up a sweat.
Ava, those are great! I can hardly wait to see the results of your November Challenge.
